How does VitalHero integrate into our systems?
Standard SSO (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace). HRIS connectors for Personio, Workday, SAP. Optional: Slack & Teams bots.
Which AI models do you use?
Hybrid stack: local models for health data, EU-hosted LLMs for conversation. No health data leaves Europe.
Is there an open API?
Yes. REST & webhooks for VitalScores, engagement and reporting. Available on Enterprise tier.
Privacy & compliance
Who owns the data?
The employee, always. The company only sees aggregated reports from team size ≥10.
How do you handle the EU AI Act?
We classify VitalHero as 'Limited Risk' and already meet all transparency and documentation obligations.
What happens at contract end?
Users can keep their private accounts. Company data is deleted GDPR-compliant within 30 days.

What does a typical rollout look like?
Pilot with 50–200 users over 90 days. Then scaling. We ship change-management playbooks with it.
What does VitalHero cost?
Per active user per month. Fair model: inactive users don't pay. Volume tiers from 50 seats.
App registration & onboarding
How do I download the app?
Search for 'Gesundheitsheld.in' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Alternatively use the QR code provided by your company.
How do I sign up?
Tap 'Register now' and use your private or work email address. You receive a verification code by email. Enter the code, set your password, done.
What is my company code?
If you are part of a company programme, choose 'Join my company' during registration and enter the code your company gave you. If you skip this step, you can add it later under 'ME' → 'Personal'.
What is my username?
Pick your own, nickname, first name, initials. It is visible to others in challenges and rankings, so use something colleagues will recognise.
Do I have to connect a tracker during registration?
No, it's optional. You can enter activities manually or connect a tracker any time later. See the 'Tracker & tracking' section for details.

How do I connect my tracker?
The integration runs through Apple Health (iOS), Health Connect (Android) or Thryve (Garmin, Fitbit, Polar and others). Data sharing must be enabled in the respective system settings. For Thryve, open the app under 'ME' → settings (gear icon) and pick your device under 'Connect your tracker'. Authenticate once, sync runs automatically afterwards.
Which trackers are supported?
A wide range of common devices (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Polar, Whoop and more) as well as smartphone-built-in sensors via Apple Health and Health Connect.
Can I use the app without a tracker?
Yes. The activities overview has a button for entering steps and activities manually. Manual entries are checked for plausibility.
When does my data sync?
Activities sync up to 7 days retroactively, provided you open the app regularly. If you don't use the app for longer, points from that period are lost.
How do I switch the connected tracker?
In your profile under 'Connect your tracker' you select the new device. Alternatively adjust which data is forwarded to the app inside Apple Health or Health Connect.
Can I connect several trackers?
The main integration runs through one of the three interfaces (Apple Health, Health Connect or Thryve). Which additional apps and devices may access them is controlled in the respective system settings, for example granting Apple Health access to a Whoop app.
How do I activate the step counter on Android?
Under 'ME' → settings, the option 'Activate step tracking' enables direct step tracking via the app.
App features
What sections does the app have?
Four main tabs at the bottom: 'Today' shows your daily performance and PurposePoints. 'Redeem' lists available donation projects. 'Participate' contains challenges, daily missions and duels. 'ME' shows your level, profile and all settings.
What is the 'VitaLion'?
Your personal AI health buddy, companion, motivator and contact point. It recognises your patterns, continuously adapts content and recommendations, and is available for questions. Based exclusively on your own data, processed GDPR-compliant.
What does the egg mean?
The more active you are, the faster your VitaLion hatches from the egg. Under 'ME' you see your current level and the requirements for the next one.

Under 'ME' you see your current level and the concrete requirements to level up.
Where do I see the rankings?
Under 'Participate' → 'Community' you find the 'Community' ranking listing all app users. If your company runs a programme, you also see a company-specific ranking there.
What are daily missions?
Short tasks you can complete within a day, tailored to your interests and needs. Two missions are available daily; complete them to earn PurposePoints.
How is the ranking calculated?
The community ranking is based on PurposePoints earned in the given period, independent of level.

How do I earn PurposePoints?
For all sport activities you track or enter manually. Rule of thumb: 1,000 steps = 1 PurposePoint. Additional points for completing daily missions and similar.
Where do I see my PurposePoints?
At the top of the app, your current level and available PurposePoints are always visible. Today's points appear under 'Today'.
What do the four point categories mean?
You earn points for: 1) Steps (1 point per 1,000 steps), 2) Bonus (e.g. daily missions), 3) Activities (depending on the tracked sport like running or yoga) and 4) Sleep.
How do I donate my PurposePoints?
Under 'Redeem' you find available donation projects. Pick a project, choose how many points to use, confirm. Which projects are available depends on the current programme run by your company.
Can I donate anonymously?
Yes. When redeeming you are asked whether the donation should be anonymous. Your name is then hidden, only your company is shown.
When do my PurposePoints update after an activity?
Depends on the tracker. Usually data syncs throughout the day; some trackers deliver in real time. Data is transferred up to 7 days retroactively. Use the green refresh button to update the view manually.

Who do I contact with questions?
For technical questions about the app use the in-app chat bot or write to hi@gesundheitsheld.in. For questions about a specific company programme, contact your internal programme team.
What can I do about an error message?
Close and reopen the app. If that doesn't help, check that your phone OS and the app are up to date and update if needed. If the issue persists, contact hi@gesundheitsheld.in.
Can I keep using the app after a programme ends?
Yes, after a company programme ends you can continue using the app for free with full functionality for two weeks. After that you automatically fall back to the basic version, no cancellation required. A private membership can be started any time.
Where can I see the terms & privacy policy?
During registration you opt in by tap and can review the documents beforehand. We process all data GDPR-compliant and host exclusively on secure servers in Europe. Privacy: vitalhero.io/privacy · Terms: vitalhero.io/terms
Can I use the app anonymously?
Yes. Across the entire platform, including duels and rankings, you can appear anonymously. The setting is under 'Personal' in your profile. Even when donating PurposePoints you can decide per donation whether to stay anonymous.
What happens if I leave the company?
You always use the app as a private user. If you are part of a company and leave, you can keep using the app privately, without a company code and with your personal membership.
